Excellent pair of deluxe dueling pistols signed "Plomdeur a Paris" in gold on the barrels with pronounced "Swamp" at the muzzle. Classic LePage style with half stocks that richly checkered and select French walnut. Wide and narrow double gold bands in empire style at the breech and muzzle. Set triggers. Case colored locks and mounts. Browned and striped barrels. Approximately 12mm or .46 caliber with micro-grooved rifling. The pistols are in very good plus to almost fine condition with 90% plus colorful case hardening remaining. The barrels have been lightly cleaned to gray with traces of brown and striping. Measures 14 7/8" overall with 8" barrels. The case shows high quality Moroccan leather with gold embossing along with green baize on felt. The case is very good in its interior with minor mothing and slight losses along with impressions and normal aging. Full complement of high grade accessories in their proper places with correct mold (No Key). Deluxe burl veneered exterior to the case with "P.L. initials on large oval plaque. The lid is slightly warped. An impressive set reminiscent in style to the earlier Napoleonic era arms. (Antique) Est.: $9,000-$18,000
