1840 heavy cavalry saber marked “Ames Cabotville 1852” and “ADK” inspected with U.S. marking including scabbard. The blade is fine to excellent with original bright polish and just slight aging on edge towardsthe tip. The hilt has and uncleaned patina and wire wrap is tight over very good with slight rust and some erosion with minor dings, mars, and fresh rust etc. Drag is marked “A.D.K.” on the blade. A 9.5 on a 1-10 scale and balance very good. Est.: $400-$800
