on the left side of the receiver. This rifle is in .38-56 caliber with a 26” octagon barrel, plain trigger, Lyman peep and beech sights, half mag, rifle butt, 3X checkered walnut stock, S/N 35106. Shipped Sept. 19, 1898 with 4 other 1886’s on order 1702. Return and repaired Oct 25, 1899 on order 12037 Factory letter included. The rifle remains in very good plus original condition with 80%-90% original blue on the barrel with some toning and natural aging along with minor losses at the muzzle and edges. Minor scratches but crisp and fairly bright with good address and caliber markings. 0.5 plus original case colors starting to go silvery with light rainbow hues. The stock shows good burl with good checkering. Just minor marks and minor aging. Excellent wood to metal fit with 60%-80% varnish and slight darkening to the fore end. Good bore and considerable bright blue on loading gate and bolt. (Antique) Est.: $9,000-$18,000
