Overall length: 24 5/8". Blade length: 19 7/8". The blade has a single, wide fuller with a narrow, secondary fuller near the spine. The blade is etched over approx. the first 8". The etching includes foliate and geometric motifs along with passages that appear to be Old Dutch. There is also an engraved figure, possibly a Monarch, on each side of the blade. The last word of one of the engraved passages is clearly "Amsterdam." Simple, brass guard with a repurposed brass ferrule. White, organic osseous grip with molded, embellished, brass tape wrap. Simple brass pommel with replaced silver chain handguard. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark patina with severe pitting. However, much of the engraving is still visible. Grip shows moderate wear. (02-23020/BF). $300-500.
