Manufactured in 1917, this United States Property Colt 1911 pistol is all original. Features a 5" barrel, blued finish, period correction notch and half-moon front sight, diamond checkered wood grips, lanyard loop and the two-tone magazine. All standard Colt stampings, right side of the slide stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Right side of the frame is stamped with the serial "No 169809". Left side of the slide is stamped with the two-line Colt patent address and Rampant Colt on the rear of the serrations. Left side of the frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", and Major Gilbert H Stewart's proof mark behind the trigger. Comes in red foam lined oak display case with glass top with correspondences between Brigadier General Beveraly Browne and US Army General George S. Patton Jr, and Mr. Browne's military and ancestry history. CALIBER: 45 ACP. S/N: 169809. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
CONDITION
Retains 90%+ original finish with only a few light spots of oxidation. Nice bores and great mechanics. In exceptional condition for its age and military use! Grips are still nice with sharp checkering. Display case shows very light scuffs and handling marks.
