1918 dated DWM Artillery Luger semi-automatic pistol, 9mm caliber, Serial #4108. The pistol is in 85-90% plus original finish and is all matching numbers except the magazine. The markings are good, the bore is very good the action is crisp with some wear to the grips and no import marks. The right grip is period inscribed inside the panel in Russian, possibly indicating WWII service on the Eastern Front. Please refer to thecatalog photo as the inscription is absolutely of the period in our opinion. The lot also includes a newer wooden case with assorted tools, cleaning rod and a note of explanation regarding the grip inscription.The translation reads, “Ship of the Navy “RED PINE” Kolpino-Ivan Makarovich Mikovoz”. The note states this is the inscription in the left grip of the 1918 Artillery Luger. Est.: $1,500-$3,000. (C+R/PPT).
