PHOTOGRAPH. This lot includes 1 pair of heavy brass stirrups with plume-like decorations on each side. / 1 Pair of iron stirrups of a swivel-type form. / 1 Single, plain iron stirrup. / 2 Single brass spurs with iron rowels. / 2 Iron spurs with iron rowels. / 1 US M1859 curb bit, likely issued late in the war from 1863 to 1865. Both brass "US" rosettes remain on the sides. / 1 CDV-size tintype photograph of what appears to be a merchant sailor holding a pistol across his chest with his right hand. CONDITION: brass has a pleasing, mellow patina. Iron has a brown to red, oxidized patina. Tintype shows light wear with some craquelure. The image is raw without frame or case.
