A Victorian close helmet most probably from a knight’s funerary achievement.The low comb skull with an attached visor pierced with breaths. Wide gorget plates. The helm surmounted by a finely carved figure head of a knight’s destrier in dark wood, the head beautifully executed by a master carver. The helmet patinated overall. The knight’s horse head in fine original condition.
