FERDINAND ABNER OF IOWA, THE OTHER BY CHRISTIAN SIEBERT OF COLUMBUS, OHIO. 1) ABNER. Cal. 38. NSN. Bbl. 35" oct., fitted w/ buckhorn rear & German silver blade front sights. Top flat stamped F. Ebner (of Burlington, Iowa 1856). Front spring percussion lock w/ stamped engraving marked "LEMAN" "LANCASTER, PA". Double triggers are fitted. Half stock of well figured quilted maple is brass mounted & ends in pewter nose cap. Buttplate is crescent style, trigger guard has finger spur & curl at rear. Sideplate resembles the outline of a flying bird. CONDITION: fair to good. Iron parts are dark brown patina & considerably pitted. Stock w/ old refinish has numerous marks & repairs along forend. Dark bore, strong rifling. Triggers are operable, lock slip hammered when trigger is set. (01-19014/MGM). 2) SIEBERT. Cal. 47. NSN. Bbl. 33", oct. fitted w/ U-notch rear & German silver blade front sights & a modern scope base. Rear portion of top flat stamped "C. Siebert COLUMBXX". Back spring percussion lock is unengraved & marked "C. Siebert". Stock of attractive curly maple is brass mounted & has pewter nose cap. Crescent buttplate has 2 1/2" return. Trigger guard has dbl. spurs, sideplate is of simple tear shape. CONDITION: very good. Iron parts pewter gray to brown patina w/ some light overall pitting. Stock w/ old refinish & some repairs on left side of action area. Brass is uncleaned dark brown. Fair to good bore w/ some light pitting. Set trigger & lock are operable. Left side flat at rear of bbl. is drilled & tapped for receiver type sight. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19016/MGM). BOTH ANTIQUE. $1,250-1,800.
