2 SPANISH AMERICAN WAR ERA UNIFORM COATS & 1 PAIR

OF PANTS.
1) INFANTRY. Spanish American War cotton khaki enlisted man's uniform coat with blue button on shoulder straps. Uniform has 5 large enlisted coat buttons down the front & 2 on the belt. Front of uniform has 4 pockets, each with a button flap. All pocket buttons are small size enlisted eagle buttons. The back is pleated with 2 belt loops to support the belt. CONDITION: uniform shows wear but is complete & undamaged.
2) HAITIAN. A very interesting Spanish American War period cotton khaki enlisted man's coat likely for the Marine Corps. Coats like this scarce example were altered for use by Haitian Police during the occupation of the island after the Haitian Campaign of 1915. Uniform has 5 large subdued Republic of Haiti buttons down the front of the coat with 2 smaller buttons on the shoulder straps & breast pockets. The 2 pockets under the breast pockets have been purposely removed. Sleeve length has been altered a couple of times indicating use & reuse of this uniform several times. A rare survivor of the Banana Wars. CONDITION: uniform remains quite strong but has been altered a few times & shows general wear & some minor stains.
3) PANTS. A pair of cotton khaki enlisted man's pants with lace-up calves. 4 Button front with 2 slash pockets at the seam & 1 watch pocket. A small tag on the inside reads, "MARCUS RUBEN MAKER 625 S. STATE ST. CHICAGO". CONDITION: pants show overall light wear with a few very minor stains. (02-16051/BF). $500-700.
