1) Cal. 8x50. S# 9976J. Bbl. 19". Matching numbers on bbl. Mismatched stock. Top of bbl. has faint Austrian acceptance that appears to be 1916. Top of receiver is marked "STEYR/M.95". Odd long rear sight graduated to 2000m. Rear sight is missing a screw. Blade front sight. Hardwood stock set w/ left side sling swivels. Rear sling mount is missing forward screw. Buttplate has unit marking that reads "JR13/80". CONDITION: handguard has a missing 2 1/2" section at front & a few cracks along its length. Arsenal reworked stock otherwise shows some scarring from improper band removal, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal is mostly a silvery gray patina w/ some scattered light pitting & oxidation staining. Worn bore w/ scattered frosting & oxidation. (23-1949/MJC). 2) AUSTRIAN. Cal. 8x56mmR. S# 4606J. Bbl 30-1/2". Austrian M95 manufactured by Steyr. Blued finish with solid wood buttstock and handguard. Chamber is stamped "STEYR/ M.95", with an "S" (Spitzer conversion) stamp over the breech above an indiscernible Austrian military acceptance proof. Receiver and barrel are matching, with the front barrel band, bolt assembly, and buttstock being force matched, likely at the arsenal. Rifle is mounted with a period brown leather sling. CONDITION: Very good as refurbished, with metal components retaining the majority of their likely arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some minor wear and some areas of pitting beneath the bluing. Bright bore, exhibiting some mild pitting and strong rifling throughout. Stock exhibits scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
