2 WWI GERMAN REGIMENTAL CANTEENS.
1) A tin covered glass canteen with a cutout heart in the center of one side showing two soldiers shaking hands over the heart with a lengthy German inscription below. Upon looking through the heart, you are presented with various scenes from a soldier's life. The opposite side has a uniform button for the 7th company with the soldier's name and a large "29" for the 29th Regiment. There is also a lengthy German inscription on this side. The canteen has a pewter cap/cup with an eagle finial. There is a twisted 3-color suspension cord around the canteen. CONDITION: canteen shows light wear with minor areas of paint loss. The twisted cord is quite faded. 2) A tin covered glass canteen with a cutout heart in the center of one side showing a spray of arms with surrounding wreath. Upon looking through the heart, you are shown various scenes of a soldier's life. The opposite side has a large "79" denoting the 79th Regiment, along with a lengthy German inscription. The canteen has a pewter cap/cup with an eagle finial. There is a twisted 3-color suspension cord around the canteen. CONDITION: canteen shows light wear with minor areas of paint loss.
