This lot contains items of questionable authenticity that may be of post-WWII manufacture. We encourage interested parties to examine items in this lot closely and in person, if possible. Preview times are available upon request. 1) AIR GUNNER. A scarce example of a WWII style German Air Gunner’s Badge without lightning. The badge features an oak leaf and laurel leaf wreath with a party symbol at the base. The center has a silvered eagle in flight. The reverse of the badge has a narrow pin with rivet construction. The back of the eagle is stamped "900". The back of the wreath is engraved "Fur 50 gemeinsome Einsatze Dein Flugzeug Fuhrer". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a handwritten note translating the inscription on the badge. (02-22503/BF). 2) PILOT’S & OBSERVER’S BADGE. A very rare style 1st model combined Pilot’s and Observer’s Badge, featuring an oval wreath of laurel and oak leaves with a rising eagle grasping a party symbol in the center. The reverse has a horizontal, narrow pin with a small pocket clip at the top and shows 3-rivet construction. The back of the eagle is marked "GODET & CO. .800". The base of the wreath is engraved "5. 11. 1936" on one side and "K. H. B." on the other. The wreath is also stamped near the base, ".800". (02-22504/BF). CONDITION: both badges show light overall wear. $400-600.
