Texas: Heli Hog Hunts - Joe Waltz from Heli Hog Hunts is donating a 2-hour helicopter hog hunt for two people. Weapon to be used is an AR-15 which is provided by outfitter. Included are training on and use of AR-15 gun, safety training on shooting from moving helicopter, first 126 rounds of ammo. Not included are lodging or meals. Hunters must pay a discounted $2,000 fee for first 2 hours of helicopter time and normal helicopter rental time in excess of first 2 hours. Hunt will be conducted near Houston, Texas and hunter must provide own transportation to the helicopter launch site. Additional gunners may be added at $40 per person and covers first 126 rounds of ammo. Additional ammo prices are 42 rd mag. $12, 30 rd mag. $8. The state of Texas estimates that there are in excess of 2 million feral hogs within the state. The agriculture loss to the state is estimated at over $52 million every year. Additionally, the hogs compete directly with cattle and game animal for food. As a result the state is continually searching for new ways to aid in the eradication of this destructive varmint. There are no seasons nor any limits on the number of hogs you can hunt. They can be hunted 24/7, 365 days a year, at night with night vision equipment, with rifle, shotgun, pistol, or crossbow. The newest method is via helicopter. You will spot and shoot your AR-15 from an airborne moving helicopter. This hunt may be taken on available dates for January through March 2018.
