Auction Details
On behalf of the West Texas Chapter of Safari Club International, I would like to welcome each
of you to our 2025 annual fundraising event. We are glad you are here. Money that you spend
tonight on raffle tickets and games, the silent auction, and the live auction all goes to benefit
wildlife and wild places. Thanks to you, this event continues to get bigger and better every year. I
continue to be amazed by the generosity of the people of West Texas and our donors and
exhibitors.
Events like this cannot happen without tremendous effort. I would like to thank each of the
members of the West Texas SCI board for all the hours they volunteer to make this event a
success.
Given the size of our event, our board is often asked where the money goes. In 2024, our local
SCI chapter donated over $930,000 to support many conservation, educational, and humanitarian
projects locally and around the world. Our board chose to support the following organizations
and projects:
Safari Club International Foundation (SCIF)
West Texas Hunting & amp; Fishing Heritage Museum
SCIF Blue Bag Program
Amy Bell Charities
Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross State University

Locally our chapter continues our partnership with the West Texas Hunting and Fishing Heritage
Museum, our sister 501(c)3 organization. The museum’s mission is to help educate West Texas
teachers and students about the significant role hunting plays in conservation. The museum is
filled with taxidermy donations, providing students with examples of the variety of wildlife
found around the world. If you are a teacher or know students who would benefit by attending a
museum program, please contact one of our board members for additional information.
There are over seventy exhibitors in the back of the room, and many of them have generously
donated to our auction. Please take the time to visit with them and thank them for being here. I
hope you make a connection with an outfitter that you might book a hunt with. Also, if you are
not a member of SCI, we hope you will consider it. There is no organization that does more to
promote conservation through responsible hunting than Safari Club International. Thanks again
for being here. We hope you have a wonderful time this evening.
