Colt SAA Revolver along with western holster and rig marked “J.N. Farlow, Lander Wyo.” On the holster. Old type written card states “This gun was given to Ray Wasmund in 1929 by Mr. Cummings a pioneer of western Nebraska, he was 80 years old at that time. Mr. Wasmund used it in theatrical work until he retired from it in 1935. He is now 71 years old (1969”) signed Raymond A. Wasmund. A photo of Ray Wasmund wearing a pistol circa 1919 in Pipestone, Minn. With the Clint & Bessie Robbins Theatrical Company penned in back. Along with another photo of the troop circa 1919 including Ray Wasmund. The later Wasmund ran a feed store in Chino, CA from whom our consignor obtained the pistol and rig over 50 years ago.
Physical description: Colt black powder SAA revolver in .45 Colt caliber with a 5 ½” barrel, re-blued finish, period 1 piece ivory grips, shipped to Simmons Hardware, St. Louis, MO, June 9, 1883, 25 guns in shipment. This revolver has been re-blued and the markings are refreshed with replaced hammer or rebuilt. The action is good and the bore is good. The grips were left as found and are good showing Rafter A brand on the left. All matching numbers with front sight reduced. The western single loop holster and money belt are well worn with repairs and splits to seams of money belt. Good marking with 1 large old silver Indian style silver concho. The Rafter A brand may be researchable and Mr. Cummings may have been in the cattle wars. (Antique) Est.: $2500-$5000
