Colt 2nd Model Dragoon "MS" marked for Mass. remaining in very good plus condition, S/N 10557. The barrel shows faint traces of blue mixed in a brown patina with some bright blue under the barrel where protected. Thecylinder retains 80%-90% cylinder scene with strong Ormsby signature along with fully visible "U.S.M.R." and "Colt's Patent". The frame, hammer, and lever are "Silvery" with traces of very light colors. Light outlinesof cartouches on both grips with mostly visible initials. A small mark carved at the left grip above the cartouche (X). The grips are good plus with a small loss at the toes. All matching serial numbers with sharpmarkings. Tight action. Only about 50-100 estimated to have been produced and a desirable Colt or martial rarity. From the well-recognized Gary Wiemann estate collection. (Antique) Est.: $9,000-$18,000
