Oil painting on canvas signed center right "R. Headley 1982" entitled "Red Cloud". Measures 25 1/2" x 19 1/2". Nicely framed and matted. Excellent condition. Richard Headley who is now deceased was a noted Kentuckyrifle collector, artist and renaissance man who lived in Santa Barbara, California. Richard emulated the style and methods of Rembrandt and the Dutch masters. He painted at his leisure and pleasure as he wasfinancialy independent being married into the Castanola's seafood family. Dick was a close friend of John R. Gangel and he painted the Gangel family portrait in the 1980s. His work was of another age and of great qualityinspired by the Dutch masters he studied intently.
