1) M1840 ARTILLERY. Overall length: 39". Blade length: 31 7/8". Plain blade with a single wide fuller is stamped at the ricasso "U.S. J.T." & "AMES MF'G CO CHICOPEE MASS". Plain brass hilt with downturned quillon. Wire-wrapped leather grip. Iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a few tiny nicks to the edge. The remainder of the sword shows light wear. 2) M1840 NCO. Overall length: 39 1/2". Blade length: 32 1/8". Plain blade with a single medium fuller marked at the ricasso "US A.D.K 1865" & "Made by AMES MFG CO. CHICOPEE MASS". Solid brass hilt & grip. Brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a few scattered stains mixed with original factory polish. Hilt shows light wear. Scabbard has some loss of finish with serious flexing to the leather. 3) M1850 FOOT. Overall length: 36 1/4". Blade length: 30 3/8". Plain blade with a single wide fuller and a secondary fuller near the spine. Ricasso is stamped "Made by AMES MFG CO. CHICOPEE MASS". Gilded brass hilt. Wire-wrapped sharkskin grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray patina with some staining and numerous chips to the edge. Hilt shows only races of original gilding. Grip & wire show wear but are intact.
