3 WWI US TRENCH KNIVES.

1) M1917. A fine example of a US M1917 trench knife mfg. by L.F. & C (Landers, Frary & Clark) of New Britain, CT. Overall length: 14 1/2". Blade length: 9". Triangular blued blade w/ a blued guard & knuckle bow. Knuckle bow has 7 pyramidal protrusions on the outside & is marked on the underside, "U.S. L.F. & C. 1917". Shaped wooden grip. Iron mounted green leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits primarily scabbard wear to the blued finish. Hilt & grip show light overall wear. Scabbard shows moderate wear but remains quite solid.
2) M1918. A very nice example of a US M1918 MK I trench knife by L.F. & C. (Landers, Frary & Clark) of New Britain, CT. Overall length: 12 1/2". Blade length: 6 3/4". Blued blade w/ a raised medial ridge. Solid brass grip & brass knuckle style guard. Hexagonal pointed skull crusher nut at pommel. Grip is marked, "U.S. 1918 L.F & C -1918". Correct steel scabbard marked, "L.F. & C. 1918" at throat. CONDITION: blade retains nearly all original blued finish. Hilt shows a mustard patina. Scabbard shows light overall wear.
3) M1918. A scarcer example of a US M1918 MK I trench knife by Au Lion of France. Overall length: 12 1/2". Blade length: 6 3/4". Bright blade w/ a raised medial ridge marked at the ricasso, "(recumbent lion) AU LION". Solid brass grip & brass knuckle style guard. Squared, pointed skull crusher nut at pommel. Grip is marked, "U.S. 1918". Correct steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains a bright finish w/ a few scattered marks of discoloration. Hilt shows a light mustard patina. Scabbard shows light overall wear. (02-16412/BF). $1,600-2,200.
