FIGURES. 1) A 4 1/2" x 3" piece of paper with the original signature of John J Pershing. Pershing was a world-famous military figure and leader of the American forces in Europe during WWI. "Black Jack" Pershing was one of the few Americans to ever hold the rank of "General of the Army". 2) A 3 1/2" x 2" card with the original signature of Lieutenant General Nelson A. Miles. Miles held the title of "Commanding General of the United States Army" toward the end of his career. He fought bravely through the Civil War, earning the Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry at the Battle of Chancellorsville. He fought in many Indian War campaigns and led the Army during the Spanish American War. 3) A 3 3/8" x 5 3/8" card with the signature of Major General Hugh Lenox Scott. Scott served with distinction on the Western Frontier after graduating from West Point in 1876. Most of his service was with the 7th Cavalry, and he was charged with marking the grave sights of General Custer’s men that were killed at the Little Big Horn. 4) A 4" x nearly 3" piece of paper signed by David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister of England. The paper is accompanied by a small piece of 7" x 5" stationary with the impressed heading "10. DOWNING STREET. WHITEHALL, S.W.1." The stationery is dated "29th July 1921". 5) A 7 1/2" x 5" piece of paper signed by Major General Tasker H. Bliss. Bliss served in many capacities during the Indian War period through WWI. He is most remembered as a member of the Supreme War Council at Versailles and American Plenipotentiary at the Paris Peace Conference of 1918-19. CONDITION: all items generally show light wear. All signatures are clear and easily read. Most of the paper has slightly yellowed. (02-23298-7/BF). $400-700.
