5 CIVIL WAR PERIOD CONFEDERATE STATES BUTTONS.

Buttons like these were generally mfg. prior to the Civil War in the Northern States & transported to the Southern States for use by their militia forces. At the outbreak of the Civil War, these state buttons were eagerly utilized by Confederate militia forces.
1) FLORIDA. A superb example of a Confederate utilized Florida Territorial Seal button. Albert # FL-1-A. Face depicts the Territorial Seal of Florida showing an eagle above a bed of cactus. The reverse is marked, RMDC “SCOVILLS & CO - SUPERFINE – “. Full straight shank. CONDITION: button retains all of its original gilded finish.
2) KENTUCKY. A fine example of a Confederate utilized Kentucky State Seal button. Albert # KY-1-D. Face depicts the State Seal of Kentucky. The reverse is marked, “HORSTMANN & ALLIEN N.Y. “. Full straight shank. CONDITION: button retains virtually all of its original gilded finish.
3) LOUISIANA. A fine example of a Confederate utilized Louisiana State Seal button. Albert # LA-7-TYPE. Face depicts the State Seal of Louisiana. The reverse is marked, “* EXTRA . QUALITY * (within dotted ribbon)(3 trees above)”. Full straight shank. CONDITION: button retains virtually all of its original gilded finish.
