Joe Boucher has donated an elk hunting drop camp for up to three people in unit 481 during the archery season. The dates would be Sept. 21st thru the 26th. We would pack in on the 20th and out on the 27th. Tags need to be applied for by hunter by April 1st and usually they are drawn with no preference points. We provide a fully functional camp with 14 X 16 wall tent, drop cloth, sleeping pads, table, lantern, stove, axe, shovel, saw and latrine. Hunter provides sleeping bag, weapon, personal gear, food and cooking utensils. We pack you in and out of wilderness camp and pack out any game you may take as well. Horses are not left in camp. Hunting is at timberline around 11,000 to 12,000 ft. Elk populations are strong and upper end bulls will be in the 300 to 320 class.Hunt starts in Buena Vista, Co.
