You can participate in the age-old profession of trapping, with Stuart Maitland in the Cariboo Region of British Columbia. “Old Stu” has been trapping for over 50 years and outfitting for 37 years. You will enjoy the habitat of the furbearers’ native to the area and Stu will teach you their habits. You will learn how to set and check traps to catch; LYNX, MARTEN, ERMINE, BEAVER, MINK, WOLF AND WOLVERINE. You will receive instruction on trapping methods, scents and lures, as well as how to skin and prepare hides for the various species. You will be allowed to take home one of each species caught, with the exception wolf and wolverine, which may be purchased for market value, if caught.
Ask Stu about the upgrades available to this trip. An additional trapper may join you for $3,600 USD and a non-trapping guest may come for $250 USD + tax per day. Accommodations will be in the outfitter’s new lodge. Transportation to the Maitland's lodge from Williams Lake is included. Accommodations at the departure point before and after the trip are not included. CITES / Export Permit, packing/expediting charges, field prep and gratuities are also not included.

Unless otherwise specified, the outfitter will be responsible for the care of the preliminary trophy preparation, salting and transportation of trophies and meat to the departure point, at no additional cost. Departure point is noted in each donation profile. The successful auction bidder will be responsible for all transportation costs and crating for the departure point to their home or taxidermist. Licenses, tags and other fees are at the expense of the successful bidder.
Upon receipt of certified funds, the outfitter will acquire licenses and tags prior to the hunt. In the hunt listings, you will see the from time to time the letters “TBA” which means “to be arranged” with the guide outfitter.
Successful bidders will be required to sign an insurance liability waiver form prior to taking their hunt or other wilderness trip. Al trips must be taken within the time specified. Any changes are at the sole discretion of the guide outfitter making the donation. All trips are for one person unless otherwise specified.
