5 WWII GERMAN EDGED WEAPONS.
1) HJ. A good example of an HJ side knife measuring 10" overall with a 5 1/2" plain blade. The ricasso is marked "RZM M 7/51/38" and "(knight)". Two-piece black composite, checkered grip, with the front grip having an inset enameled HJ diamond. Black enameled sheath with integral black leather frog. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. Hilt and sheath show light overall wear. 2) HJ. A nice example of an HJ side knife measuring 10" overall with a 5 1/2" etched blade that reads "Blut und Ehre". The opposite side of the blade is marked "(logo) ROBT KLAAS SOLINGEN" and "GESETZL. GESCHUTZT". Two-piece black composite, checkered grip, with the front grip having an inset enameled HJ diamond. Black enameled sheath with integral black leather frog. CONDITION: blade etching is discernible but difficult to read. The edge has been lightly sharpened. Hilt shows light wear. Sheath finish is about 60%. Leather is complete. 3) BAYONET. An Army dress bayonet measuring 13 7/8" overall. Blade is marked "E.u.F. HORSTER (logo) SOLINGEN". Two-piece black composite grip. Plated guard and bird effigy pommel. Black enameled iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows primarily scabbard wear. Quillon on guard is broken. One grip is cracked. Scabbard finish is 70%. 4) ARMY DAGGER. Overall length: 14 5/8". This dagger appears to be a post-WWII assemblage of original and reproduction parts. The blade is weakly stamped "F W HOLLER (logo) BERLIN". Plated eagle crossguard, ferrule, and pommel cap. White plastic grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a buffed finish. Hilt appears to have some sort of coating that is peeling away. Grip is complete but quite dirty. 5) NAVY DAGGER. Overall length: 16 3/4". This dagger was likely assembled after the war from original and reproduction parts. The engraved blade appears original and is marked "CLEMEN & JUNG (logo) SOLINGEN". The crossguard and pommel are believed to be reproductions, and, of course, the wooden grip is not original to the dagger. Scabbard does appear to be original. CONDITION: blade shows overall wear with a gray patina. Hilt shows light wear and has a shellac-like coating. Scabbard has a pleasing mustard patina and has a slight, canted bend near the tip.
