5 day Trophy Mountain Lion Hunt with Hounds Diamond Outfitters
The 5-Day Trophy Mountain Lion Hunt with Hounds in Arizona, hosted by Diamond Outfitters and led by outfitter Dan and Terri Adler, offers an exciting and challenging adventure. The hunt takes place between March and May from 2025 through 2028, with hunters scheduling dates directly with the outfitter. An additional hunter can be booked, and non-hunters are welcome for $2,000. The hunt includes 1:1 guide service, meals (including non-alcoholic beverages and snacks), lodging, private property and ranch access fees (if needed), and USFS and BLM permits, as well as the use of mules or horses for transportation. All taxes, trophy fees, field transportation during the hunt, and field processing with taxidermy preparation are also included.
However, hunters will need to purchase an Arizona hunting license ($160 per hunter) and a mountain lion tag ($75 per person), which can be obtained over-the-counter upon arrival. Tips for the guide and cook are not included. The hunt takes place in an area where Diamond Outfitters has earned a reputation as one of North America's largest and most successful mountain lion outfitters, harvesting over 30 lions per year. Their hunts are in such high demand that buying one of their auction hunts is often the only way to secure a spot. Hunters will pursue big toms with hounds on gentle mules or horses, and the hunt has an impressive track record, with many SCI hunters enjoying incredible success. Hunters fly into Phoenix or Tucson, with directions provided for those driving, and accommodations are in heated canvas cabin tents, trailers, or wall tents. The retail value of this hunt is $9,500.
