Kettle River Outfitters was founded over 36 years ago, by Melvin Kilback and is owned and operated by him and his wife Tami. Melvin continues to be the principle guide for many of the hunts and he uses his vast knowledge of the area and local animals to ensure a phenomenal hunting experience for his clients. Kettle River Outfitters concentrates on quality hunts, rather than a large quantity of hunters. Because of their commitment to a superior hunt for all their clients, they boast over a 30 percent repeat customer base every season – a statistic that speaks for itself.
Having the largest winter range for deer gives Kettle River a good cat population. The cats are very large and are world renowned for their size. On this 6-day, 1:1 cougar hunt your guide will use hounds and hunt by 4x4 truck and/or snowmobile. The guide territory terrain involves running old logging roads until you cut a track. Add a bobcat or lynx to your hunt for an additional $2,500 or bring along a hunting buddy at market price. Non-hunters are also welcome for $2,000. Your trophy will also be transported to the Kilback’s taxidermist for processing.
Their base lodge in the Christian Valley is their central camp that you will stay in. It has all the comfort and amenities of a modern facility and a full-time cook on staff. All meals and lodging is included and the cape(s) will be sent to the location of your choice. Hunters can fly into Penticton, BC Canada where you will be picked up. Hunters can also fly into Spokane, WA, rent a car, and drive to their lodge in the Christian Valley. The trip is approximately 200 miles/4 hours. Licenses, tags, royalties, CITES, gratuity and Wildlife Conservation Fee are not included. Penticton Airport pick up/drop off fee of $200 USD is also not included.
