A rare Swiss Model 1869/70 Vetterli Rifle by V. Erlachu & Cie in Thun, S/N 21809 in .41 rimfire caliber. This is a rare rifle not to be confused with the common 1878 Vetterli. This model is very uncommon and has thesliding loading gate cover and side clip. Checkered fore end and plaid walnut butt. The overall condition is very good with good barrel and wood finish and matching numbers. Excellent bore. The 1869/70 is almost as rare as a Vetterli carbine.
