Laran commands a dedicated following and has contributed to many spectacular monuments including a bronze eagle over 14 tons and 33 feet tall.

Chances are that, at the height of battle, his primary thought is for simply the welfare of the guy on his left, and the guy on his right. The power of the impulse to protect one's fellow soldiers often transcends even the personal survival instinct. It is this phenomenon which defines our perception of the valor of soldiering, and colors our concept of heroism. Laran Ghiglieri has captured brilliantly the drama and essence of that phenomenon in his masterpiece, ACT OF VALOR.
