Cal. 375 H&H Mag. NSN. Bbl. 26” w/out provision for sights. Mfg. prior to 1969 but after 1964. A&M started as a partnership in 1953 at Prescott, AZ (Bill Atkinson & Paul Marquart), incorporated 1964 & ceased operations in 1975. Atkinson was a well known bbl. maker; supplied sniper bbls. for Marine M40A1 rifles. After A&M he worked 20+ years as Bill Ruger’s right hand man. Commercial FN action marked “MADE IN BELGIUM” below wood line along w/ appropriate proofs. Top of receiver drilled & tapped for scope mounts plus right side of rear bridge inletted for receiver sight w/ plug screws; opposite side sculptured around bolt release. Sporter contoured trigger guard w/ floorplate having push button release in military position. Non locking commercial guard screw at rear; front replaced w/ military locking style in non locking hole. Curved bolt handle w/ rearward sweep having relief cut for low mounted scope; flat checkered underside of bolt knob. Stith style scope mount holding 7/8” tubed Lyman All-Weather Lyman Alaskan 2.5 power crosshair reticle scope w/ S# 53788. Mounting comprised of 3 side mount screws at rear plus 2 Allen head screws into base being integral to robust bbl. band. Military style bolt shroud fitted w/ Dayton Traister style left side low scope safety & single stage military style trigger. Walnut uncheckered Monte Carlo pistol grip stock w/ raised cheek piece, 1” swivels, 13 3/8” LOP, solid black recoil pad (unmarked Kick-Eze style; supple & professionally fitted) plus black grip cap & forend tip (white line spacer on each). Maker’s name on right side of bbl. shank in stamped block letters; cal. on opposite side is jewelry store style engraved. CONDITION: very good appearance w/ light high point finish wear along w/ thinning & pinprick oxidation on trigger guard set. Very good appearing scope set w/ light marks on tube near turrets & thinning at eye piece; near excellent optics. Numerous light stock handling marks to include scraped finish on bottom of forend & below front of cheek piece; no gouges or heavy dings. Near excellent bore. (23-797/NW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
