SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Steyr. S# 5603J. Bbl. 5". Model 1912 "Steyr-Hahn" semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Steyr for the Austrian military. Left side of the slide is marked with the S#, followed by "STEYR 1915." Right side of the frame is marked with an "W-n (Austrian Coat of Arms) 15," indicating Austrian military acceptance in 1915. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for the trigger, hammer, bbl., and bbl. wedge, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Blade front sight, with V-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, and bbl. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as some light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. Grip straps exhibit mild to moderate oxidation. In-the-white components exhibit some scattered spots of cleaned oxidation and age-related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots/areas of mild to moderate pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-4084/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
