SN: 31885 'Venere Extralusso' Exquisite Bulino engraved side-by-side pinless sidelock double barrel shotgun chambered for 2 3/4" 12 gauge shells. Hand crafted in Brescia, Italy circa 1976 and masterfully engraved & signed by F. Galeazzi. Engraving consists of exceptionally well executed English rose & scroll with acanthus accents, and ultra fine realistic Bulino game scenes featuring: a proud pointer retrieving woodcock with trees in background on the underside of the receiver, and borderless scenes on the side locks which continue onto action. The left side depicts two pointer dogs flushing a woodcock in a marsh scene and the right side depicts two pointer dogs flushing a grouse in a field scene. Configuration: Blued 27" chopper-lump barrels with fixed modified/improved cylinder chokes & raised concave rib, silver bead front sight, selective automatic ejectors, bushed strikers, double triggers with front trigger articulated, coin finished receiver & sidelocks, sliding tang safety, knurled top lever, super fine point checkered fancy walnut splinter forend with Anson release and gold inlaid "FAMARS" crowned shield w/ oak wreath escutcheon, and straight grip shoulder stock with drop points & checkered bare butt. Stock dimensions: drop at comb 1.5", drop at heel 2", length of pull 14 3/8" and approximately 1/4" cast-off. The special steel barrels are hand finished and stamped by their craftsmen "MARIO", "REMO", "PRIMO", & "TONY". Includes a factory fine leather wrapped locking trunk case with partitioned interior lined in scarlet velvet. Case contains factory brochures, snap caps, a nickel plated oiler bottles and hand written & types notes from Jim Wilkinson. The barrels exhibit nearly all of their original deep lustrous bluing showing little to no visible wear. The coin finished receiver & sidelocks mirror the barrels in their finish retention but show a superficial brushed bright spot on the left side behind the fence. There is also a minute amount of fine surface rust observed on the interior of the polished receiver. One spot in the fine crevices surrounding the right firing pin bushing & lock screw and the second spot on the screw between the locking levers. Action is tight, the bores are pristine and the oil finished wood stocks are near fine showing five small filled in knots. Condition in near NRA Excellent. ***Modern Firearm*** [From the Jim Wilkinson Rifle Ranch Collection]
