With quiet strength and stunning realism, South African artist Leon Fouché captures a rare and intimate moment in the wild: a family group of critically endangered addax antelope, grazing freely in their natural habitat. Rendered in soft pastel, this original piece centers on a powerful bull in the foreground—a gentle yet urgent reminder of what is at stake in the fight to preserve Africa’s most vulnerable species.

In Leon’s own words:

“My aim with this drawing was simply to showcase the beauty of these animals grazing in the wild—as they should be for generations to come.
The Sahara region of Africa is home to some really special wildlife that desperately needs protecting; this is sadly also the case in most African countries.

The Longoria-Hosmer Foundation is making a difference where it really matters.

I’m honored to be part of the Foundation and to play a small role in raising vital funds for conservation projects throughout Africa.”

This one-of-a-kind artwork reflects both artistic mastery and a heartfelt commitment to conservation. It is not only a piece to be admired—but a call to protect what remains wild.

Valued at $13,000, this original pastel is a rare opportunity to own a major work from a rising voice in African wildlife art—one that speaks directly to purpose and preservation.
