The Alaska Department of Fish and Game in cooperation with the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association has donated this Special Permit for one bull moose (SM823-830) in the Koyukuk Controlled Use Area, combining permits in 21CD and 24CD, upstream of the Gisasa River. This area is known for producing trophy- quality bull moose, with many harvested in the mid to upper 60” spread range, and some bulls with over 6 brow tines per side. This is a once in a lifetime remote Alaska moose hunt in some of the best moose habitat in the world. The winner of this Special Permit will be allowed to hunt from either September 5-14, 2025, or September 16-25, 2025, or in accordance with hunt dates to be published in the 2025-2026 Alaska Hunting Regulations. Alaska residents may harvest any bull moose under this permit, and nonresidents may harvest a bull with at least 50” antler spread or 4 or more brow tines on at least one side. Although a guide is not required for nonresident moose hunting, hiring a guide or transporter would likely be a good idea. 70% of the proceeds of this permit will go directly to ADF&G for wildlife conservation, and the remainder will go to our friends at the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, who were awarded the permit by ADF&G, for their programs. So, bid away and help us raise money for conservation! For additional information about this hunt, please visit: https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=huntingmaps.hunt_details&huntfile_id=26426
