American Federal period pillow hilt sword with leather scabbard. The sword is approximately 37.75” overall with a 32” blade that is decorated with gold patriotic and floral designs on both sides and niter blue finish extendingapproximately 13” toward the point of the blade from the base. The sword’s mounts are gold washed and the grip is of bone. The leather scabbard has a gold washed throat and tip. This beautiful early sword is in overall very good to finecondition showing the majority of its original niter blue finish. It’s design work also maintains the majority of its gold finish. The front half of the blade retains the majority of its original polish with some scattered slight spots oferosion. The scabbard is good overall with considerable flaking of the top layer of leather; seam stitching remains tight. Est.: $2,000-$3,000.
