w/ raised carved stock and side plate. Secured by 2 large screws and small. Engraved and pierced patchbox. Silver and brass inlays and escutcheons. The lock is a re-conversion back to flint from percussion and the rifle reduced 4"-8" in its working life 56-1/2" overall and 41-1/2" BBL. Approx. 36 cal. rifled bore. The butt is fairly fat, measures about 1-1/4" across the widest part of top. The stock has been refinished and shows some repair and restoration. There is a dark line around the wrist area, but does not seem to have been broken through (fill to hide crack or what I can not discern) The carving is still fairly well defined. Larry Shelton famous California author, collector and rifle enthusiast estate. Worth proper restoration.
