Antique Holland and Holland Royal Ejector Shotgun in Vintage Maker Label Oak and Leather Trunk Case
Made by Holland and Holland of London, England for F. Vallange in 1892, according to copy of accompanying original Holland and Holland Ledger Entry. Gun is fitted with blued 28" Nitro Proofed steel barrels in 12 gauge with 2-1/2" chambers with ejectors and Full and Modified chokes. Barrels are re-proofed and marked with import marks with smooth concave maker marked rib and bead front sight with floral engraved lug. Case-hardened hammerless sidelock Royal Ejector marked action with full vignette coverage engraving. Action has Patented Gas Check firing pins with gold lined cocking indicators, double triggers and automatic safety with "SAFE" in gold. Walnut checkered English grip stock with checkered wood butt and German silver oval vanity plate. Matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with push button release. Comes in period oak and leather trunk case with reproduction maker's label and ebony cleaning rod. LOP: 15". DAC: 1-1/2". DAH: 1-1/2". CALIBER: 12/32. S/N: 14607. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
98% reapplied barrel blue with light handling marks. Action has been cleaned to a silvery patina with screws and trigger guard having reapplied finish. Stock has been professionally cleaned and checkering re-chased. Case is in fair condition with some staining and some scuffs and marks. Gun has very good dimensions with mirror bores, tight lock-up, and great mechanics. This gun would be an excellent gun to shoot in a Vintage Shotgun Shoot.
