Made originally by J.M. Marlin Company, circa 1880. Rifle was customized and re-barreled by Arthur Hubalek, who worked circa 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. Hubalek was a Master Gunsmith known for his excellent shooting rimfire rifles. This rifle has a 29" blued target weight round barrel with Posa front sight base and Posa scope bases fitted Lyman 10x Super Target Spot with original caps. Barrel is marked "A. Hubalek/Special". Case-hardened Union Hill Ballard action with plain re-worked single trigger and checkered wood tipped opening lever. Custom walnut stock with over-the-comb rollover cheekpiece fitted with checkered steel marksman style butt plate. Walnut checkered marksman style swelled beavertail forearm with adjustable hand position sling mounts. J.T. Livengood Collection. CALIBER: 22 Rimfire. S/N: 29723. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall 98% barrel blue with light scuffs and edge wear. Action has traces of case colors with oxidation marks, especially in grip areas. Wood has 90% of original finish with usage marks and sharp checkering. Stock has some paint splatter. Good bore and mechanics with scope needing professional cleaning.
