Aug. Jung of Viernau Drilling, 16 gauge and 8mm calibers, serial #2891. The rifle is in very good overall condition with 26 ½” barrels. The barrels retain the majority of their muted blue finish. The barrels havelost some finish at the muzzle and show a small area of moderate surface rust on the underside. The receiver is beautifully engraved in antlered game animals and scroll with clipped fences and a stylized, “KRUPPSTAHL” at the breech. The rifle comes with a tang mounted safety as well as a Greener style stalking safety. Claw scope mounts have been installed; however, no rings are included. The finely checkered wood stock is in good condition with a splinter fore end, beaded cheek piece and shell holder in the butt. The butt stock features a horn trigger guard and ends with a hard plastic butt plate and a 13 ½” LOP. The bores are good,the action crisp and markings are sharp on this magnificent pre-war drilling.
