GLOBAL SAFARI OUTFITTERS
5-DAY BARREN GROUND MUSKOX HUNT FOR 1 (NWT OR NUNAVUT)
VALUE: $16,500
The muskox (Ovibos moschatus)—meaning “musky sheep-ox”—is an incredible Arctic species, uniquely adapted to harsh northern environments. With its massive horns, long hair, and thick underwool (qiviut), this prehistoric-looking animal thrives in extreme cold.
While the muskox appears huge, much of its bulk is hair, making it look larger than it actually is! Whether you choose a rug, shoulder mount, or full-body mount, the incredible coat is almost as important as the impressive horns.
A muskox hunt is an affordable way to experience Arctic hunting without the challenges and costs of a polar bear hunt. Once considered an almost impossible prize, muskox numbers boomed in the 1980s and 1990s and continue to increase.
