OPTIC 30MM RAIL SCOPE. Cal. 8x57 JR / 16 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 32. The 26 3/4" bbls. are fitted w/ claw scope bases, popup rear & silver bead front sights in full length matted rib. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ Imperial German Nitro proofs w/ later reproofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Rifle cal. “7.8mm/57” is on rifle bbl. Scallop backed boxlock action w/ rifle/shotgun selector on top tang has Greener type side safety, pin rifle cocking indicator on top, bushed strikers, crossbolt 3rd fastener, sideclips, reinforced frame, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators on sides & dbl. triggers (front set). Action is engraved w/ near full coverage lg. open scroll in shaded background. Game scenes are on sides w/ roebuck on left & duck on right. Trigger guard is horn. Plain European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over ribbed horn buttplate. Stock features right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering & cartridge trap w/ space for cartridges under springloaded cover on toeline. Cover is engraved w/ scroll matching that on action. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Drilling is mounted w/ Docter Optic 1.5-6x 30mm rail scope w/ windage adj. & crosshair & 3 post reticle in claw bases, rear w/ windage. MEASUREMENTS: SHOTGUN BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .667", L .666". Restriction: R .023 (MOD), L .024" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .028", L .032". STOCK: DAH: approx. 2 11/16". DAC: approx. 1 5/8". LOP: 14". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT WITHOUT SCOPE: 7 lb. 6 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: with black plastic case. CONDITION: good, bbl. & action are mostly gray patina w/ traces of original blue on bbls. where protected. Top rib & left side of action show some considerable deep pitting, probably from blood contact. Stocks are good w/ remnants of old finish, checkering considerably worn. Shotgun bores are very fine & shiny. Rifle bore is quite dark in grooves. Mechanically good. Scope is very fine w/ some scratches in exterior lacquer, 2-3 fairly deep on ocular bell. Optically clear.
