ENGRAVED BY JULES LEWANCZVK. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 20806S70 (1970). The 30" barrels fitted with narrow ventilated rib are marked for modified and full chokes. All correct factory markings are on top barrel. Barrels have been ported and top barrel has been fitted with choke tube. Bottom barrel retains modified choke with .030 restriction. Coin finished action is fitted with gold plated mechanical single trigger. Action is engraved in usual Diana style with attractively scrolled shaded acanthus surrounding semi-relief game scenes; five pheasant in open woodland on left and four ducks in wooded marsh on right. A pair of quail are on bottom of action and hares are on trigger guard bow. The only signature found is "J. Lewanczvk" at bottom of duck scene. This noted Browning engraver was probably responsible for engraving the whole action. Short tang square knob buttstock of crotch figured American walnut measures 14-1/2" over brown Browning trap pad. Closely spaced checkering wraps over top of grip. Flared target forend matches well. STOCK: DAH: 1-9/16". DAC: 1-3/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 14 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Barrels appear to be re-blacked after being ported and rate about 99%. French gray of action also appears very fine with only some minor silvering. Stocks retain essentially all of their gloss finish with only some minor marks. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight. Trigger does not set up for second shot when in under position, which is an issue that is relatively inexpensive to fix. (24-2224/MGM). CURIO. $7,000-12,000.
