BSA British No. 7 Mk I/L Bayonet.
The No. 7 Mk. I/L bayonet/fighting knife was a very innovative and complex design, with a unique swiveling pommel. This is a beautiful example of the rare No. 7 bayonet. The No. 7 Bayonet was a bayonet primarily used with the Sten Mk V submachine gun. However, it could be used on the No. 4 Lee-Enfield, but only for ceremonial purposes as the bayonet obstructed the path of the .303 round fired from the rifle. It is Broad Arrow marked and maker coded M47A on the blade ricasso, which is the dispersal code for Birmingham Small Arms Company. They made 25,000 of these bayonets. The reverse ricasso is marked with No7 MK 1/L, for bayonet number seven, mark one, land service. The 8" clip-point blade is very good/bright. the paxolin grips are excellent, the matte black pommel, guard, and scabbard are excellent. You won't find a nicer example.
