Jungle Carbine' WW2 era British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured at the Royal Ordnance Factory Birmingham Small Arms Shirley circa 1945. Features a black painted finish on the 20.5" barrel, pinned front sight base with protective sight ears, cone style flash suppressor & bayonet lug, dovetailed patridge front sight, receiver mounted, screw adjustable, folding aperture sight graduated to 800 meters marked 'B', smooth trigger, manual safety on the left side of the blued receiver, 10 round detachable magazine, sling points, hollowed bolt handle, steel buttplate with rubber recoil pad, and smooth wood stocks, no import marks have been observed. Left receiver rail marked "No. 5 MK I chamber has British proof, "crown over BNP".Left butt socket marked "M/47C (BSA Shirley), 1945 CC1389"Serial number matched on butt socket, stock, and bolt handle, mismatched magazine. Barrel band, and butt stock stamped "M/47A" (BSA Small Heath), Right butt socket stamped "England" three times. Rifle retains approximately 70% of its paint/blue finish, with edge/handling wear, mostly on the receiver, butt socket, and magazine, there is what appears to small grind mark on the left receiver, bore is excellent/bright, wood is good/sound with a group of small dents on the left, and underside of the upper fore stock, there are some old rack numbers in white paint on the buttstock, action is smooth.
