Early Post-War Belgian Browning Grade II Superposed Over/Under Shotgun, #6606, 20 ga., 2-3/4'', 28'' blue barrels with front and middle white beads on a 1/4'' ventilated rib; bores measure .612'' and .611'', chokes are Cyl./Cyl. as marked on chambers; the gold-plated trigger is single selective with a manual sliding top-tang safety. Engraving on the French gray frame follows patterns similar to the original pre-war Pigeon Grade Superposed models with full coverage fine scrollwork highlighting two pigeons in flight on both sides of the frame and deep relief oak leaf borders on both sides of the spindle. The high-gloss custom Hydro-Coil stock set has a figured American walnut buttstock with 24 LPI checkering and deeply chiseled flared borders with a matching slim tapered forearm; ebony capped flared pistol grip is inset with an elaborate gold initial diamond lettered ''R-O-H''. Compressed length of pull over the 3/8'' black rubber buttplate is 12-7/8'', extended is 14-1/8'', drop at comb is 1-5/8'', drop at heel is 1-3/4'', weight is 7-1/4 lbs. Current condition requires repair and restoration: Both barrel side ribs have been removed to alter the point of impact using a 3/8'' metal band soldered at the muzzle, barrels are loose on the action and in the oversized forearm barrel channel; the Hydro-Coil cylinders are inactive and the combination barrel selector and sliding safety fails intermittently; forearm cross screw is marred and misaligned as are the lower tang screws. Est.: $1,500-$2,500. (C&R)
