At Friesen's Outfitting our goal is to provide you with the best opportunity possible at harvesting a mature, trophy Whitetail or Black Bear. Our team will work hard to offer you an overall relaxing, unique and successful experience in Saskatchewan's north. Friesen's Outfitting Ltd. is owned and operated by Joel and Eliesha Friesen. Joel and Eliesha were both born and raised in Meadow Lake, SK on the fringe-land of the northern provincial forest. They have been married since 2009 and have two boys, Carson and Caden, and a little girl, Adie. Joel grew up with a love for wildlife, the outdoors, and wild places at a very young age. Later in life this led him to a career working in the mountains guiding hunts on horseback, and now owning and operating his own area with Eliesha in Northern Saskatchewan. "Through experiences and friends, we've met along the way, we've had an opportunity to purchase this whitetail and black bear area in northern Saskatchewan. We are extremely excited to be able to get into an area with lots of game and room to explore and are looking forward to sharing this area with you!”
Our black bear hunt in northern Saskatchewan is second to none. With miles of ridges, lakes, and swamps, combined with years of no hunting pressure, this area holds a very healthy population of mature black bear. All our hunts are over baits and hunted from a combination of tree stands and ground blinds. These northern bears have virtually never seen people and because of this have not been educated, making this area an archery hunters dream. You will see multiple bears on your hunt and have great success whether you choose to hunt with a bow, muzzleloader, or rifle.
This hunt is for 1 hunter for 5 days in the 2023 Saskatchewan Black Bear Season – Spring. Included in the hunt are 5 days of hunting, transportation to and from your stand, baited tree stands and ground blinds available, preparation of hides, and radios for communication with your guide. All meals, transportation and lodging are provided. All hunts end on Friday evening.
Cost for observer is $1500.
Additional requirements: Canadian Firearms Form and Current Covid Vaccination.
Saskatchewan Black Bear Gear List: Passport. Firearm or bow and case to transport on ATV. Extra clothes for 5 days and personal items. Fishing rod and lures. If you are hunting with a rifle, you must have a white or orange outer garment or orange vest with an orange or red hat. Rain gear, as well as warm layers and gloves. A Thermocell, or some form of mosquito repellant, as well as a head net, especially in late May/June hunts, there can be lots of bugs. Boots and a pair of shoes for around camp. Flashlight/headlight with extra batteries. Camera and lots of memory/storage.
