Bolen’s “Life and Property Protector” Allen’s patent deluxe French style and rosewood cased .31 caliber six shot pepperbox. The barrel is marked “Bolen’s, 104 Broadway, New York.” The pistol remains in very good plus to near fine conditionwith 60%-80% original drifting and toning blue finish. Some losses at the high points and edges. Near fine select wood grips with spangles. About 50% case hardening on bar hammer. The case shows a full original picture label with slogans and“Important to travelers and housekeepers” also “The last and greatest improvement in Firearms”. A dynamite and rare label. The green and burgundy French style casing is lined in velveteen and is original and near fine. An English flask by Dixonis the original and this was a very deluxe feature as the cost was much higher also included is mold, rod, and compartment cover. The exterior is a deluxe brass bound rosewood of top quality and also near fine with slight marks and very minorage cracking. Rosewood cased pepperboxes are scarce but with a Bolen label this set may be unique. (Antique) Est.: $5,000-$10,000
