Lorenzo Ghiglieri has mastered the art of detail in all his magnificent sculptures. “Cantankerous” features a rare bit of whimsy. Ghiglieri, who is an adventurer in addition to an artist, actually has had several personal encounters with grizzly bears on his many trips to Alaska. In addition to the powerful features of the great grizzly, look closely and you’ll see a tiny field mouse that seems to be inciting the bear’s ire. This sculpture is 17 inches tall, 21 inches long and 13 inches wide and has been appraised at $18,500. This bronze is part of a 250 edition and is on display at the podium.
