MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 303 British. S# 22L9512. Matching numbers on receiver, bolt, and forend. Bbl. 25". No visible import mark. Receiver is marked on left side "NO4 / MKI * / LONG BRANCH / 1943." Receiver ring is marked on top lightly in electro-pencil "NZ 21435." Flip-type rear sight graduated to 600 yards. Blade front sight with protective ears. Right receiver rail has cutout for bolt head release. Vertical grooved cocking piece. Hardwood stock set with view marks. Forend has "K" and "S" near the serial number. Correct tan web sling dated 1942. MAGS: one unmarked detachable 10 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: one 8" round spike bayonet marked on left side "WR / NO4 / MKI / S M" as well as serial number. Black metal scabbard with web frog. Bayonet has worn finish but is in serviceable condition. CONDITION: stock set has a nice-appearing original finish with very light wear and scattered marks. The forend has a notable scratch on the left side over the mag. well. Metal retains a very large degree of its original finish with light wear. Very good, shiny 2-groove bore with sharp lands.
