CAPTURED CHINESE SKS WAR TROPHY WITH PAPERS.

Cal. 7.62x39. S# 11298516. Bbl. 20.5". Mfg. Chinese Government. A unique find w/ complete documentation. This is an official War Trophy that was liberated from Vietnam after February 25, 1971, & exported to the USA from the American Embassy in Saigon March 13, 1971. Included are the original forms including DD603, DD603-1, War Trophy Registration, Export Request from Saigon American Embassy & others as authorized to SP5 Richard Farrell of the 864th Engineer Battalion. Chicom mfg. SKS bearing the "Triangle 26" factory mark. These guns were the primary infantry weapon of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) & could be found in numerous places on both side of the war. As well as the original Chinese characters it appears that many outwardly obvious parts bear numbers matching the receiver including mag., trigger group, bolt & even the stock. The top cover bears number "28164". Spike bayonet which matches stock inlet. Hooded post front sight w/ rear tangent sight marked out to 1000m. A short section of rope is affixed to both sling attachment points. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original Registration of War Trophy (Form DD603), War Trophy Authorization (DD603-1), Temporary Export License dated 25 FEB 1971, Export Request from American Embassy in Saigon & Vietnamese Export License. CONDITION: finish on exposed metal surfaces is consistent w/ a combination of light patina & thinning as expected. Bayonet locks tightly in both open & closed positions. Stock possesses numerous impressions throughout. It received battle damage on the right side that extends from the chamber area to the front of the trigger guard though it doesn't appear to have affected the function. Stock trapdoor still retains cylindrical cleaning kit behind flat steel buttplate. Bore remains surprisingly shiny w/ good rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (22-300/JZ). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
